IF God is omnipresent (everywhere) why must I seek Him? After finishing up the last devotion, I heard this question internally, therefore I hope that this response encourages someone that God heard you and wants you to know this:
The presence of God is NOT a moving target. God’s presence is not the universe. God is creator and the universe is His creation. God is God and his divine omnipresence encompasses the object, the universe. Leaving no stone unturned. However, when our eyes, heart and mind give up, ditch, avoid or ignore God’s presence which is everywhere, - just like with anything else we abandon - WE BECOME less acquainted with His character. We become unfamiliar with His voice which acts as a light in a dark world. Our compass (excuse me - GPS) in this congested fast moving world. There are countless things which content and compete for our attention, time and devotion. Externally as well as internally. Thus we must remember to actively seek God’s face, we must intentionally do life with God allowing nothing to dampen this life long pursuit. Christ tells us that If we seek we will find. This is good news. Matt 7:8 - For EVERYone who asks receives and the one who seeks finds. This is what I love about God. We question him and because He is the answer, he then questions us.Finding Him is not the missing piece to the puzzle because He is there, He is everywhere. Will you be the one to seek, see and receive is the more fitting question.
AFFIRM: God is here with me now and will be with me every step of the way today.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, assist me in actively engaging with your presence today. Nudge me when I tend to forget or ignore the safety and deliverance found in God’s presence by worrying or taking on the cares of the world. Thank you God, for the open invitation to indulge in your favor and fellowship. I accept. In Jesus name, Amen
